What do you think about the food that you put into your body? Have you noticed all of the talk about organics and GMO’s? If you have, great. Your learning about how the food you choose to eat can have a big impact on your body. If you have not, where have you been? Don’t worry, it’s not too late, but it is time to wake up and pay attention.
Organics foods and Non-GMO’s offer you natural food, and let’s face, when it comes to what you put into your body, the more natural it is, the better off it’s going to be for you. I’m sure science is good, but how much should we be messing with nature. GMO’s essentially do that. They are scientifically engineered. Some claim that they are just as good for you as all natural, but some people have a lot of questions about what exactly has been done to the food. At this point, the long term effects are not really known.
And then there’s the pesticides and all the chemicals that are in our food. Why do we need to have all of those chemicals in our food? It’s not obvious to me, but there seems to be a need to make things look better, have tastes that make you crave them, and of course just a lot of sugar that tastes good. But at the end of the day, if the pesticides can kill weeds and bugs, what does that do to you over the years. They say everything in moderation is ok, but how much moderation do we have when virtually everything we eat has different chemicals in them.
So what are we supposed to do? Organics are expensive, but your life is worth it. At this point, you have to ask yourself how much you are worth and whether you respect yourself enough to take control of your life. Here’s a simple mantra from Michael Pollen: If it came from a plant, eat it. If it was made in a plant, don’t.
NOW IS THE TIME.
Take a look at your fuel and think about what it’s doing to you. When you learn more about it, you’ll look to make the right decisions for you and for your future.
